Metallica Finally Realizes That Some People Like To Get Music Online

Filed under: Uncategorized — billgatesretirement @ 9:16 am

Please refer to this information For all the success of iTunes, there have been a few bands that have famously stayed out of the online music revolution — with the Beatles being the most famous (even if they’ve admitted that might change soon). One that hasn’t been quite so surprising was Metallica — the poster child for bands opposed to any sort of forward progress in music distribution. The band, of course, was the first high profile music act to protest Napster, with statements that suggested the band didn’t really understand what was happening. While the band did eventually experiment with some online music, it was fairly limited and the band couldn’t even explain it clearly. When iTunes first came out, the band was vehemently against the service, because it would let people buy individual songs, rather than forcing them to get an entire album. If there’s one thing that’s been consistent through all of this, it’s that the band has always wanted to define for its fans how they must enjoy the music, rather than letting the fans tell them how they want to enjoy the music. That’s why it seems a bit lame for the band to position the fact that they finally are putting their songs on iTunes as something they’re doing “for the fans.” They make it out as if their fans are just now discovering iTunes, and then even try to blame their record label for the delay. That might be easier to buy if it weren’t for their anti-fan, anti-digital position for all these years. This information might be a better choice experts discuss wireless vulnerability

You can also check this out…. a Child’s First Car Loan, Courtesy Of Toyota During the original dot com boom, there was an interesting company called “DoughNet” which was supposed to to be a financial site for kids — trying to teach kids how to be responsible with money at a young age. Of course, that was the marketing spin. Others believed that it was just a sneaky way to give kids access to some of their parents’ cash so they could spend it online (parents usually had to set up an account with a certain amount of money that the kids could “manage”). While it got a lot of hype, it quickly went nowhere. However, now that so many people have forgotten what happened last time around, it’s no surprise that we’re seeing similar ideas — with new twists. Last month we wrote about Toyota’s strategy to get kids hooked at a young age, by sponsoring many different aspects of a virtual world for kids. Of course, if you’re going to get kids hooked on wanting a certain car, you might as well get them primed and ready to do so with debt. Jeremy Wagstaff notes that Toyota has now added a new feature to this children’s virtual world: the ability to buy one of these virtual cars on credit. It even involves a fake credit report using “WhyCO” numbers designed to mimic FICO numbers. Of course, to get a good WhyCO number you have to be very involved in the Whyville virtual community. It’s being pitched (of course) as a way for kids to better understand things like car loans — but some might wonder why 8-year-olds really need to understand things like credit scores, debt and interest payments. Next thing you know, we’ll find out that these kids are being taught the importance of purchasing the extra warranty and the virtual undercoating as well…Did you know that First means the one coming, occurring, or ranking before or above all others. Basically, the buzz was that nanotechnology was hot, so plenty of companies wanted to have their brands swept up in the excitement — even if they had nothing to do with actual nanotechnology. It looks like some companies are now experiencing the downside to such brand maneuvering. The problem was that Magic Nano doesn’t actually involve any nanotech.Did you know that About means something that has no existence. This is worth your time also increase In Regulations Just Creates More Reasons To Fire Employees Reports of people getting fired for seemingly trivial indiscretions with their computer have become rather commonplace in recent years. It’s not hard to figure out why: technology has created a minefield, whereby the smallest mistake can create major liability for an employer. The legal risks alone include sexual harassment lawsuits and failure to comply with regulations. But instead of taking it out on the employee, and explaining why these firings are justifiable, perhaps more effort should be placed on attacking the legal and regulatory culture that created this mess. It’s getting to the point with digital communication that it’s arbitrary whether an employee is communicating by email or by IP-based phone call. Yet we rarely hear about someone getting fired for a joke they made over the phone (but watch out when it becomes cheap and easy to archive all calls). Any system based on a hodge-podge of regulations that treat different forms of communication differently is bound to result in a lot of mistakes and needless terminations.
